New Shop Items & New Events

I have added a few new items to my shop: Spring Harvest line (limited edition - won't be available again until Spring 2018) and sumingashi sheets (framed & printed).

Also, I've updated my Events page. I've added my WNYBAC workshops for the summer session. Check it out to see what is happening this summer!

Mother's Day Special! Customize a paper heart with a personal message to your mother and all mother's out there! Ink + Matter provides the beautiful script while I provide the handmade paper.

Votes, upcoming events, paper line announcements, Mother's Day & more...

Happy Spring to everyone in the Northern Hemisphere! And may it be a tolerable winter for those in the South! Spring means many things to this paper mill and that is vendor season, fresh harvests (sources of paper fiber, natural dyes, inclusions), outdoor paper-making (free up electrical usage through sun-drying!), and overall a lot of rewarding work. I wish you all a pleasant Spring and encourage many hikes through the woods.

Some things for April:

  • FedEx Small Business Grant

Tomorrow (5 April) is the last day to vote for Petrichorpaper in the FedEx Small Business Grant contest!!!! Two opportunities (today and tomorrow) left to vote! Each vote brings me one step closer to at least being considered for one of eight grants. Please consider sharing this with friends, family, social media as well. Every vote counts and can possibly bring me to the next level of the contest.

Receiving ANY of these grants will be such a tremendous help in helping me to grow my business.

Thank you to everyone who has submitted a vote! Keep it up!

Vote today!

  • New Shop Items

Later this week I will be adding a couple of new lines to the shop. Be on the lookout for:

Blueberry Oats

Stock is limited so don't wait too long if you're interested. Until then, Taffy is currently available.

  • Wedding updates, collaborations, Mother's Day Special

The Rochester Indie Weddings Spring bridal show wrapped up a couple of weeks ago and it was a wonderful time. Marital bliss in the making and I am happy to be a part of it. With that said I have updated my website to include wedding quotes. You can find them here

I have also begun collaborative work with Ink + Matter, based in Buffalo, for all of my calligraphy requests.

That leads me to wrap things up with an announcement about our Mother's Day Special. From now until April 17th I will be offering a heart & message deal. For 30-35$ you can get your mother a personalized handmade paper heart. Hand-crafted paper & hand-crafted lettering all for your dear mother. What could be better?! To place your order you can visit my online shop or if it's not yet listed email me so I can be sure to get things moving.

I have been accepted to participate in the FedEx Small Business Grant contest that awards 8 small business grants ranging from 7,000-25,000$. As many of you know, this is an important contest for me since I have left my full-time job to pursue the paper mill full-time. It is now in the voting period and I need your help. These votes will help increase my chances of getting noticed among the judges. You can vote once every 24 hours. Please vote and encourage your friends and family to vote as well. Also feel free to share this on social media feeds! Voting ends April 1st.

FedEx Small Business Grant Contest

Taffy line has been posted and officially for sale! Check out the Shop for more details.

Also, now that I've been working with the mill for about four years now I have begun to weed through equipment. I don't have a complete list but I will gradually be selling some of it off. This vat is the first piece. I hate to see it go but I just don't have the room nor the physical height. I am selling it for 200$ and it must be picked up. It will be in Buffalo for another week or so then it will be moved down to Randolph for storage. Dimensions are: 43.25"width x 36"length x 42"height x 23"depth. Contact me if interested.

March 3rd marks the beginning of MS Awareness Week and I am kicking off my first year of collecting donations for the cause. Four years ago I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and I've been working hard to educate others about the disease. It is an unpredictable disease that is currently without a cure. No one has any idea as to what causes this disease but researchers have been making incredible breakthroughs over the years. Although it is a result of an overactive immune system response it is considered a neurological disease. I've attached a link to the National MS Society information site if you are interested in learning more.

With that said I will be accepting donations from March 3rd - 9th to go towards the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and its research development unit. Also 1/2 of sales made throughout this week will be donated to the fund as well.

All support is greatly appreciated!

Valentine's Day promotion has been announced! 14% off until February 14th. Minimum order of 10$ is required. Discount includes workshops and memberships! Coupon code = IHEARTPAPER

I am committing myself to update this section at least once, if not more, a month. Consider it my monthly update. This is what I have for you this January:

Upcoming workshops & events (Intro to Papermaking, Quilling, Seed Paper & Lino Cuts; Rochester Indie Weddings) - details can be found in the Event section.

Shop updates (blank notebooks! Who doesn't love a good ol' blank notebook?!) - journals, notebooks, sketchbooks can be found in the Shop section. Don't worry paper will be on the way shortly!

I am now accepting orders again! After many months of laying low I am now ready to produce paper! For those of you who don't know I have been in the process of relocating both my family and the mill to the countryside of Western New York. I have left my day job during the process and am working full-time in the mill. Which means I need these orders to keep on coming. Got something in mind? Contact me about an estimate.

On a more personal note, this month (this week!) has been trying for many, if not all of us. Yes, I get political and I think everyone should at least be informed about the opinions they have and the stances they take. This past week has many of us on edge in just about every corner of every topic. I'm not here to tell you what to think nor what to believe. All that I ask is that we stay informed and do our utmost to listen. Once I am able to wrap my brain around the current state of things I will be doing my part to help raise money and awareness for all that is at risk. We are all in this together and I can assure you I will be right by your side. And I can assure you, if books start to burn, I will fight like never before to protect those sacred words for all of the generations to come. Until then, enjoy some Alec Baldwin SNL skits. Political satire is the key. If that's not your thing, maybe cute animal videos?! : )

Take care!
