After five years of operation, I have decided it is time for me to close this chapter. My studies have been affording me great opportunities and I am finding less and less time to be in the mill. This was a tough decision to make but it is the right one. This does not mean I will never make paper again! I will! However, the focus will be on personal projects and less business-oriented.
I wanted to take the time to thank all of you for the tremendous love and support you have shared with me throughout these years. You've all witnessed it grow from scrappy ambition to one that became dignified and professional. Although it did not reach the masses in the way that I had hoped, it reached you and that means the world to me.
On that note, I have two other announcements:
July 15-21, 2018 – The class will explore the basics of papermaking through nature. We’ll work with a variety of plant fibers to form sheets as well use for inclusions and natural dyes. I’ll introduce basic methods, tools, equipment, and sizing techniques while allowing plenty of time to experiment. We will have a chance to harvest local plants so be sure to pack your field guides! The goal is to create a portfolio with nature’s provisions and challenge ourselves to see the potential in our own backyards.
This will be my last workshop! Wells College is located in the Finger Lakes region and is absolutely beautiful in the summer. This is a week-long event but not only will you make wonderful, interesting paper, you will also get to hike the area, enjoy local sites, with room & board options. Come join me in celebrating the book arts and send Petrichorpaper out in style! I would love to end this journey with a final workshop celebration! Low to no enrollment means cancellation. Let’s make this workshop happen!
